Its very hard to find "humanoid" things that have the things I like (Stat wise & with the innate attack) so I'm willing to take the two mental stats & have lack luster abilities to be able to have resistance & the racial Bite+Heal.PlaneShift is a cross-platform 3D Online Multiplayer Role Playing Game in a fantasy setting. But this DM has a hatred for Yuanti purebloods (even with the removal of magic resistance), and lizard folk just are not human enough to fit the party thematic.
I've got a penchant for races with an innate "bite" attack, we have learnt - Yuanti, Lizard folk ect all draw me in, otherwise i'm just a variant human. I put the naming down to it being a MtG concept made to fit D&D - Vampire in MtG are that, & I'm sure if the race was made for D&D explicitly & not part of a cross marketing scheme, I have no doubt it would be named "Vampyre" or the "Dhampir" or some other similar thing. Honestly, The thing is I'm not looking to play a "vampire" per-say, its just that the racial traits are things I like (Bite+heal built into the race is good, & Feast of Blood increased Mvmt is also very desirable for me) so if I could get a race that did similar things I'd be very happy (I was choosing between this and the Kor plane shift race too)
